The Gates of Jerusalem:

The Holy Bible mentions "12 gates of Jerusalem" in the Book of Nehemiah. Today the Old City has 8 gates and most of them date after 16th cent AD. Three gates in the north wall: Herod’s Gate, Damascus Gate, and the New Gate; One gate on the western wall, the Jaffa Gate; On the Eastern Wall are St Stephens Gate and the Golden Gate (sealed) and On the south wall are the Dung Gate and Zion Gate. However, some of these gates are built on the base of ancient Biblical Gates. All but one (the Golden Gate) provide entrance to the city. Unfortunately, I couldn't see the Herod's gate...sure next time...
