Has an ancient cistern hewn in the rock which was discovered by Queen Helen (the one who discovered Christ’s cross) in 4th century. It provided water for drinking and building the Holy Sepulcher church.

My way of classifying Israel geographically is very crude. Roughly Israel can be divided into three. The green fertile northern region includes Galilee and Golan; with Haifa and Netanya the major cities.
The political, scientific and religious hub of Israel is the central region where you have Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.
However, where I reside is the southern part called Negev which has Beer Sheva and Eilat as major cities.
